Happy 3 months Levi!

Levi, it's so hard to believe that you are already three months old. Time has flown. What have we learned about you during these last three months?

That you are the most layed back kid. EVER. You cry so little that you could go down into the "never cries" category. Nothing seems to phase you, well, except hunger. Then you let your feelings be known through mild whimpering. But even then , I don't think that can even qualify as crying. To sum up, you are a super sweet, cuddly and calm kinda' guy.

We've learned that you are just the cutest thing on God's green earth. Right up there with your big brother and sister. Even with spit-up and drool running down your chin.

We've learned that you have the most wonderfully squishy cheeks that just keep getting squishier! {Same applies to your other little baby cheeks, but we won't talk about that lest you be embarrassed.} Your love for nursing is becoming quite evident as you have now begun to outgrow most 3-6 month clothes. You are one big, chubby boy and we love it!

Yep. You're a keeper. And now we'll quit taking your picture and let you go to sleep since you are SO tired and giving that blank stare.
We love you little man and we've thoroughly enjoyed these first three months of your life!

Happy Birthday My Sweet

To the Little Girl who made me a Mother......

The Sweetheart who taught me so much and made me grow up so very fast...

The lone Princess of this castle who has a twinkle in her eye and a skip in her step...

The Miracle Child, who, underneath the healthy, energetic and laughing exterior, carries around a broken, yet repaired heart...

A Daughter of the King who desires to serve Him as best as she knows how...

The adoring Big Sister to two little boys...

The Sugar Pie who fills our every day with sunshine and sweetness.....

Happy 6th Birthday Lydia, I love you so much!

Love,

Mommy

From Where I Sit

{Sigh.}

These pictures evoke a whole gammet of emotions when I look at them.

Laughter...my little (not really little anymore but I'm in denial, okay?) almost six-year-old drama queen who will happily sit and dig in the mud was horrified that I wanted her lower extremities to touch the grass. I know, what kind of mother am I anyway??

Excitement...my usually-squirmy-former-youngest, now turned middle child, was incredibly still while I took these pictures. I think I almost went into shock.

Joy...soon after we found out that Levi was a Levi and not a Lucy, I saw that little shirt sporting "little Brother" and decided that I just had to have it for him. I even payed full price for it, that's how much I wanted it! (Please forgive my non-frugal moment!) It hung in my closet for months as I daily looked at it and tried to imagine him wearing it. And now, here they all are, Big Sister, Big Brother and Little Brother all together. Wow.

Wonder...that these three sweet, beautiful, amazing little people are actually mine....that I get the privilege to be their Mom. That we are a family of five now...FIVE!

Love...just look at them...I think my heart is going to burst!

{Sigh.}

Random Thoughts on having a Two-Week Old

I forgot how much I love baby feet.....

I forgot how wonderful it was just to watch them sleep and hear them coo, see their funny faces and feel their sweet little breath against your skin.

I learned that Levi doesn't like to be made into a baby burrito like his big brother and sister did...instead he likes his arms to be free....

And I'm learning what it's like to just enjoy these newborn days with my baby at home.

Life sure is sweet. =)

Just because...

....he is so stinkin' adorable.

Check out those eyelashes! Don't know if you can see them in the picture, but they are seriously long!

Look at that little mouth and chin...could he be any cuter??

Already workin' it. =)

I just have to say that God has been SO good. All around this hospital there are reminders of what God has done in our family. And now He's written a new part in our story and it's been so sweet. While we may not be first time parents, there's so many first's that have come with Levi's birth.

First time seeing my baby after birth.

First time holding my baby after giving birth.

First time having my baby in my room with me.

First time not having a child in the NICU.

First time not signing all manner of consent forms for procedures for my children.

First time not having to meet with neonatologists and surgeons.

First time just being able to be. To enjoy. To snuggle. To cherish these moments.

And quite frankly, we are having a blast. =)
